BeeWell Assisted Living

BeeWell Assisted Living is a small assisted living home on West Kiowa Street, tucked into the west side of Colorado Springs a few blocks from Old Colorado City. Rather than a wing inside a large building, it is a single house that tops out at 16 residents, which is the whole point of the place: daily life keeps to the size of a household, and the same faces show up day after day. The care here is straightforward assisted living, with staff helping residents with medication, dressing, bathing, and moving safely around the house, and someone awake and on hand through the night.

As a resident comes to need more help, more support arrives to meet them. There is no memory care wing and no independent living apartments; this is one care level, delivered in one house, on a private-pay basis. What residents and families tend to notice first is the caregiving team. People who work here stay, and over a year or two a resident is looked after by caregivers who know their routines, their preferences, and their family by name.

Meals come out of the kitchen and are eaten together, the week carries a light rhythm of small-group activities and visiting musicians, and holidays are marked as a household rather than as a scheduled event on a large calendar. Because it is a 16-bed home, BeeWell suits a family drawn to a small, personal setting over the amenities and scale of a 60- or 100-bed community. It's private-pay only, so Medicaid billing doesn't apply here, and pets aren't accommodated.

On the west side of Colorado Springs, the shops and cafes of Old Colorado City and downtown are minutes away, UCHealth Memorial Hospital Central and Penrose Hospital sit a short drive east and north, and Pikes Peak stands over the neighborhood to the west. Run as an independent home rather than a chain property, BeeWell trades the long amenity list of a bigger complex for consistency: a small house, a stable team, and care that adjusts quietly as a resident's needs change.
