About Birch Assisted Living

Birch Assisted Living sits on Birch Avenue in east Greeley, Colorado, a few blocks from Island Grove Regional Park, and its 60 apartments make it one of the larger single-purpose assisted living buildings in the area. Residents here tend to put down roots — long stays are common, a pattern families notice as they compare options across Weld County and talk with people who already live there. Caregivers handle the daily essentials: reminding residents to take medication, helping with bathing and dressing, and stepping in when someone needs a hand getting around safely.

The team has earned a reputation among families for staying on top of a full caseload shift after shift. Birch holds an assisted-living license only — there's no memory care or independent living on site — and the community bills privately each month rather than through Medicaid, so the cost falls to residents and the family members supporting them. The dining room and shared spaces are sized for a bigger resident population than Greeley's smaller residential care homes, and staff describe full days built around medication rounds, personal care, and keeping an eye on everyone in the building.

Families who visit often talk about the relief of finally landing on a stable, lasting placement after a long search, a feeling that comes up again and again among people who chose Birch. This is a fit for families who want an established, larger assisted living community with a track record of housing people for years rather than months. Memory care, independent living, and Medicaid coverage are not part of what Birch offers, so it's worth confirming that upfront if any of those three matters to your plan.

Island Grove Regional Park is close to Birch Avenue, and downtown Greeley's shops along 8th Avenue are within easy reach, along with the University of Northern Colorado campus just to the west — a stretch of town that stays walkable for residents who can get out. North Colorado Medical Center is only a few minutes away, useful for residents managing regular appointments and for out-of-town family members visiting.

Birch Assisted Living operates on its own in Weld County — no national company sits behind it — and it leans on a staff families describe as steady and hard-working to manage a demanding daily routine, year after year, inside a building sized to house more residents than most single-purpose assisted living communities nearby.

Birch Assisted Living has been a blessing to our family. They accepted my brother there, and provide outstanding care for him. The staff truly cares about everyone there. I am so happy knowing he is getting the care he needs, and is safe and happy!

Very appreciative to Birch Assisted living. My in laws have been there for over a year now and the worry is gone. We previously had issues finding a permanent spot for my in laws but we are very relieved to have found that residence in Birch.

Birch Assisted Living karma is a horrible horrible place to reside. I watch three people die there that should have been in the hospital. But they are more interested in the money so they kept them there and let them die. The food is Bland and blase. And you cannot get help what…
