About Jaxpointe at Flower Court
Jaxpointe at Flower Court, a completely remodeled ranch house a short distance from Ralston Road and Independence Street in central Arvada, first opened its doors in December 2009. The residential community offers assisted living and memory care in a secure setting for eight residents, and its six bedrooms divide into four private rooms and two shared rooms. Care in the house is shaped for people living with Alzheimer's disease or with Lewy body, vascular or Parkinson's dementia, and the household also supports people recovering from a brain injury or a stroke.
Through the daytime, two full-time caregivers work with the eight residents, one caregiver for every four people, and one caregiver remains awake through the night. Personal care is available around the clock for the activities of daily living, medication management, and incontinence care with supplies. Local health service partners bring home health, rehabilitation and hospice into the house when a resident needs them.
Twice a week a certified physical therapy assistant with 20 years of experience comes by with specialized physical routines for residents, and a podiatry nurse tends to foot and nail care. Three home-cooked meals a day, with snacks offered between them, follow a dietitian-approved menu, and breakfast shifts to match the hour each resident likes to get up, while lunch and dinner are eaten together as a family.
Staff take up puzzles and gardening with residents every day, and each resident's music program is built around that individual person. Musical entertainers perform for residents every week as well, and group trips have taken residents to the Butterfly Pavilion and to local car shows. The backyard at Jaxpointe at Flower Court is large and carefully kept, and it offers walking paths, gardens and open space for recreation.
Visiting follows an open-door approach, and relatives are welcome to join residents at meals and at events in the house. Residents can also leave with family for an overnight stay, a family celebration, a drive or a meal out. Jaxpointe at Flower Court fits a family seeking an eight-person household for a parent with Alzheimer's disease or another form of dementia, or for someone recovering from a stroke or a brain injury.
It also suits a person at ease in a home-style residential setting, sharing a single house with seven other residents. Costs come as one all-inclusive private-pay rate with no published dollar figure, so confirm the current monthly amount with the house directly.
