About Millbrook Homes

On South Kenton Way in Englewood, Millbrook Homes cares for eight residents inside one single-family house. Only eight people share the address, and that headcount shapes the pace of caregiving here. Staff pick up on shifts in a resident's condition within hours, not days, since they are following eight people instead of a full building roster. Daily rhythms follow the household itself, not a fixed institutional calendar posted on a wall.

Direct care covers washing, getting dressed, personal grooming, and steady footing throughout the house, plus daily reminders so each resident takes medication on time. A slow morning for one resident does not throw off the group, since staff can shift attention person by person as needs arise. That kind of flexibility comes easier with eight names to track than with a crowded facility census. All meals come out of the house kitchen, cooked on-site rather than delivered from an outside commissary, and residents sit down together for each one.

A resident's physician can flag dietary notes that shape the weekly menu, a workable task since the kitchen plans around a small, known group of diners. Between meals, the group settles into conversation, television, short outings, and quiet time, closer to a normal week at home than a scheduled program. Millbrook Homes bills privately, so families cover the monthly rate using savings, insurance, or other personal funds, with no state Medicaid benefit applied to the cost.

Current house rules keep companion animals off the property, so residents cannot bring pets to live there. Eight residents make this home noticeably smaller than licensed communities built around many separate apartments and wide common areas. Families drawn to private-pay care inside a compact, familiar group often find this setup comfortable, and the home's focus stays fixed on assisted living rather than a dedicated memory program or public benefit billing.

Emergency and specialty medical facilities sit right nearby, so urgent needs do not mean a long trip across the metro area. Pharmacies, casual restaurants, and grocery stores fill the nearby blocks, keeping errands quick whenever family visits. Millbrook Homes is set on a calm residential street inside Englewood's medical corridor, away from busier commercial roads and heavy traffic. Millbrook Homes operates as a small, independently run residence, and that independence carries into daily caregiving, since staff learn each resident's habits and preferences firsthand instead of routing decisions through separate facility departments.

My mother has been at two Millbrook Homes facilities. The Kenton House staff are very caring and attentive and the house is kept clean and "homey" for the residents. Its tough to find good residential assisted living. We have been very pleased.
