About MorningStar Fort Collins
MorningStar Fort Collins sits directly across from Warren Lake and Collindale Golf Course on Lochwood Drive, on the southeast side of Fort Collins, Colorado. The community offers assisted living and memory care, and it has 96 licensed beds and 79 suites in all. Of those suites, 55 are set aside for assisted living, and the other 24 form a secure memory care neighborhood known as the Reflections Neighborhood.
Care staff are on duty at MorningStar Fort Collins 24 hours a day, and a full-time licensed nurse is available for clinical concerns at any hour of the day or night. Daily health monitoring is part of the care that residents receive at the community, and both assisted living and memory care are offered at several levels of care. Inside the Reflections Neighborhood, the Lavender Sky memory care program draws on Montessori-based therapies and builds an individualized service plan around each resident.
Physical, occupational and speech therapy are all offered on site at the community, and third-party providers can extend that care further. Residents of this secure neighborhood are given room for independence, and clear wayfinding throughout the space supports them in it. Meals at the community are served three times a day in the dining room, with a professional chef on the staff and all-day restaurant-style dining available as well.
The building also has a bistro and a full bar, and a private dining room is set aside for more intimate dinners. Residents can pick from gluten free, dairy free and vegetarian choices, along with low fat, low sodium, sugar free and no sugar added options, and they manage these diets themselves. The all-day dining menu at MorningStar Fort Collins is prepared largely from scratch. Suites at MorningStar Fort Collins include a full accessible bathroom, and assisted living residents choose among studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom floor plans, and some of those suites run past 800 square feet.
The memory care suites in the Reflections Neighborhood are studios and one-bedrooms between 358 and 483 square feet. The community suits older adults who want help with daily care in a building where pets are welcome, and it suits two unrelated residents of the same sex who are open to sharing a companion suite. It also suits families caring for a parent with Alzheimer's disease or another form of memory impairment, since the Reflections Neighborhood is devoted to the individualized care of residents living with those conditions.
Seniors who need a shorter stay can arrange a respite or trial stay in a fully furnished suite, based on availability. Warren Park, at 1101 East Horsetooth Road next to Warren Lake and Collindale Golf Course, has lighted tennis courts, a turf soccer field, sand volleyball, a playground and picnic facilities. Along with the park, the Power Trail comes within about four-tenths of a mile of the community at its nearest point, and Sprouts Farmers Market on South Lemay Avenue is less than a mile from the building.
UCHealth Poudre Valley Hospital on South Lemay Avenue and Banner Fort Collins Medical Center on Lady Moon Drive are each roughly two and a half miles away in a straight line. Banks, churches, grocery stores and restaurants are all within easy reach of this residential part of Larimer County.

I toured MorningStar while my siblings and I were searching for the best local assisted living facility for our mother. This is a beautiful modern facility with so many amenities. Everyone I interacted with was welcoming, warm, and kind. I especially want to mention the…
Moving a loved one into Assisted Living or Memory Care is never an easy decision, but our family has been incredibly grateful for the care and support my mother has received at this community. From day one, the staff has been welcoming, accommodating, compassionate, and…
Moved my mother here several years ago and she recently moved on. Unfortunately while she was there we watched Morningstar degenerate into just another company run by private equity, where they care not for their customers (residents) but for how much they can cut and how much…
My father is loving all the social aspects that are featured and how friendly everyone has been, residents and staff. There are a few glitches though. His showers and laundry schedule are still a work in progress. Despite having the days listed as to when, the staff hasn’t been…
Beautiful building, good food, great maintenance staff. Otherwise, staff is overworked and management creates an environment of blame and caregiver in-fighting. My mom was in MC, left wet all day, no activities, even TV was turned off because director didn't want it to be…
