About Gabby Bright
Gabby Bright covers Salt Lake County, which is the most-populated and most-densely-built senior living market in Utah. More than fifty communities cluster across Salt Lake City, Sandy, Draper, Murray, West Jordan, South Jordan, Cottonwood Heights, Holladay, and Millcreek, and the differences between them matter as much as the differences between counties elsewhere in the state.
Ten years of senior care experience inform Gabby's matching. She tracks which communities sit walking distance from Intermountain Medical Center or the University of Utah hospital, which have recent state survey patterns worth reviewing before a tour, and which accept Medicaid in practice rather than only on paper. She also tracks the operator differences that affect day-to-day life inside a community, including staffing ratios, caregiver tenure, food sourcing, and the activity calendars that determine whether a resident has something to do every day or just every Wednesday.
Gabby's matching considers community style alongside care level and cost. Salt Lake County's diversity means a community that fits a longtime gardener may not fit a former teacher who wants structured daily programming, even if both residents have identical care needs and budgets. She walks tours with families and shares written notes after each visit so the whole family can review the comparison.
The service is free for Salt Lake County families with no obligation. Gabby returns calls and messages the same business day.

There is no way I could have made this decision or found the perfect place for my Grandpa with out the help of Gabby and CarePatrol of Utah. Everyone and I mean EVERYONE we spoke to and worked with were so kind and caring. Gabby essentially held my hand through every step of the process. She listened to my ramblings about the issues my husband and I were facing with my Grandpa, the doctors diagnosis and suggestions, she listened and calmed my fears regarding this whole change!! Gabby was and is a life saver. This whole process is very overwhelming- there is so much weight on your shoulders to find the right place, to ask the right questions to do the right thing... We toured different places all of them wonderful and any of them would have been a great fit for my grandpa. Gabby- the calm presence in a very overwhelming and turbulent time guided us, soothed the fears and validated our choices. She helped to keep the priority in the right place and that is Grandpa. She helped us choose the place that felt right. Not just based on financial constraints but also location, community size, personal touch and for me - emotionally. I needed to have him close to us, I needed the facility to feel and smell like a home not a hospital, I needed to know the staff would treat him like their own grandparent. I needed his new living arrangements to be like living with me. The wonderful, impressive, mindful, caring, calm, reassuring and loving GABBY made all of this happen. We found the right place for my grandpa- just down the street from my house. The staff is wonderful, the living arrangements are huge! and it feels like home. After grandpa moved in my husband and I left for a trip that had been on the books for months. Even though Grandpa had moved in and was settled, Gabby checked in on him IN PERSON while we were gone. She listened to his stories about my grandma's cooking and the hunting exploits of his younger years... She didn't have to do that but she is amazing and […]

Gabby helped me navigate finding assisted living for my reluctant father. She chose beautiful facilities with our priorities in mind. She accompanied me on tours and asked great questions I had not thought to ask. Even after he moved in, she checks back with us to see if we need anything else.

My sisters and I were in a desperate situation when my father ended up in the ICU on a ventilator. Not only was that a desperate situation, he was the main caregiver for my mother with stage 4 Alzheimers. We needed to find a place quick and wanted it to be a good, permanent fit where she could thrive and live safely. Being on a timeline made the enormous task of finding a care facility even more overwhelming. Gabby from Care Patrol was a total lifeline. She was professional, responsive and shared a wealth of knowledge about out different care options. She listened well and took us to multiple places to help us find the right fit. It was such a comfort to know Care Patrol was as invested in our mom finding a good place. My siblings and I all agree that it would have been so much more stressful and time consuming without Gabby at Care Patrol

Gabby helped guide us through a rough and confusing time when big decisions for a loved had to be made about things we knew very little about. She helped find us what appears to be a great facility and helped facilitate getting us there. She was prompt in responding, especially since many of these decisions needed to be made quickly, and continued to check up on our progress. I don’t think we could have done it without her help. Thanks Gabby.

Gabby with CarePatrol is simply amazing. Finding a new home for a loved one with health issues can be emotional rollercoaster, and Gabby was there every step of the way. From day one, she was caring, professional, knowledgeable and went above and beyond to support my family throughout the entire process. She arranged appointments with multiple facilities in a short amount of time, was extremely responsive with my numerous questions, and patient with our timeline. Gabby was so kind and really took the time to get to know our family and understand what was important to us. She helped us select a great place and even after the move-in process was finished, Gabby took the time to check in and visit in person. Thank you, Gabby – my family is so grateful!

Frequently asked questions
How long does the senior living placement process take?
Most Salt Lake County placements run between one and six weeks from first call to move-in. Hospital discharges compress that to forty-eight or seventy-two hours. The county's fifty-plus communities mean the shortlist step takes more work than in smaller markets, but tours usually fit into one to two days because driving distances are short. Gabby walks the standard sequence: first call, care assessment, shortlist, tours, comparison, deposit, and move-in coordination.
What does a senior living advisor do?
Gabby walks Salt Lake County families through senior living placement. Salt Lake County is the most-populated and most-densely-built senior living market in Utah, with more than fifty communities clustered across the valley, so the advisor's job is mostly about narrowing options to a workable shortlist. Gabby walks tours with families, shares written comparison notes after each visit, and coordinates paperwork once a community is chosen.
How quickly will I hear back?
Gabby returns calls and emails the same business day. After-hours messages come back the next morning. For Salt Lake County hospital discharges (Intermountain Medical Center, University of Utah, Intermountain LDS, St. Mark's), she can usually meet a 48-hour shortlist turnaround because the working community map for the county is already in her head.
What if I don't live in Utah but my parent does?
Out-of-state coordination is a regular pattern for Salt Lake County. Gabby works fully by phone, email, and video, walks tours with whichever local family member can be present, and shares written notes after each visit so distant family members can review the same information. Decision conversations include everyone the family wants involved.
Do you help with Medicaid?
Yes. Salt Lake County has the largest Medicaid bed footprint in Utah given the community density. Gabby knows which Salt Lake City, Sandy, Murray, Draper, and West Jordan communities accept Medicaid for new admissions versus only existing residents, and she tracks current availability week to week. She can walk through eligibility, the typical application timeline, and the operators most likely to have current openings.
What care types do you help place?
Gabby helps with assisted living, independent living, memory care, and skilled nursing across Salt Lake County. The county's community density means most care levels are well-supplied, including continuing-care campuses that span multiple levels under one operator. Gabby factors care-need progression into the shortlist so families do not have to move communities a second time.
