Assured Serenity Lakewood

Assured Lakewood is a small, secured residential memory care home at 1085 Vivian Street on the west edge of Lakewood, Colorado, near the Golden border and the foothills. With roughly ten residents in a single house, it is built for older adults living with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia who do best in a calm, secured setting that feels like a home rather than a facility, with a layout designed to ease confusion and prevent wandering.

The care model here is unusually high-touch: Assured staffs its homes at about one caregiver for every four residents, which works out to meaningful one-on-one time each hour, with care available around the clock and a nurse on call. Caregivers speak English and Filipino, and families often receive photos and updates, which helps relatives stay connected when a parent's memory is changing. The dementia programming draws on Montessori-based and sensory approaches, with reminiscence and sensory activities, music, and art shaping a dependable but flexible daily routine.

The whole point is to meet residents where they are, on a calmer schedule that reduces the anxiety dementia often brings. Daily life centers on home-cooked meals prepared in the house, with residents welcome to take part, and the home keeps secured outdoor space so residents can be outside safely. Medication management, help with bathing and dressing, on-call physician visits, and hospice and pharmacy coordination round out the support.

Assured Senior Living grew out of Serenity House, a Colorado small-home operator founded in 1998, and now runs homes across the Denver metro. Assured accepts Colorado's Medicaid waiver for eligible residents on a case-by-case basis, and a senior advisor can walk a family through current pricing and whether Medicaid can be part of the plan here. The community welcomes dogs and cats, so a resident's pet can often join, with the advisor confirming size and policy.
