About Seven Lakes Memory Care

At Seven Lakes Memory Care, on 1990 Pikes Peak Drive in Loveland, Larimer County, residents living with Alzheimer's disease or another form of dementia take part in the Hearts & Horses Riding in the Moment program. Memory care is the specialty of this 48-bed community, and its quiet neighborhood setting puts downtown Loveland about 4 miles away. Wellness programming for memory care residents comes through the Mind+Body Wellness Program, which centers on getting each person actively involved.

The community ties that participation to two stated aims, keeping residents engaged and guarding them against withdrawal and depression. Dementia care certification instructors from Front Range Community College work with the community, and occupational therapy students from Colorado State University complete fieldwork here, which makes the community a work-study site for students training in that field.

Alongside those two college partnerships, the community describes itself as Dementia-Friendly Leader Certified. The activity schedule includes resident fitness classes and organized activities, along with adaptive classes designed to challenge both thinking and movement. Indoors, the community has a spacious great room as well as a beauty parlor and barbershop on site. Each month, residents join a philanthropic outreach project and also take part in the Yoi Shigoto community outreach program.

Transportation is available 5 days a week for scheduled outings away from the community. Meals are served restaurant-style and come with the monthly rent, and the dining area has its own full kitchen along with a breakfast bar. Residents choose between private and shared studios, and depending on the studio the bathroom is either private or shared. The building is smoke-free throughout and has an emergency alert system, and residents can keep a small pet here for companionship.

Every utility apart from telephone and cable comes with the monthly rent, as do transportation and weekly housekeeping with linen service. Concierge support, programs and excursions, and maintenance are covered by the rent as well, and laundry service is provided along with housekeeping. Payment for a stay here is private, and the community does not accept Medicaid as payment for a resident's rent or care.

Outside the building there is a secured patio along with walking paths, and the community sits in a lakeside setting. Boyd Lake State Park, whose address is 3720 North County Road 11-C in Loveland, is close to the community as well. Families have programming of their own through the TLC Program, which stands for Teaching, Learning, and Connecting and offers education and support designed for the relatives of residents.

Stays here take two forms, long-term memory care and short-term respite. A respite guest lives in a fully furnished apartment for the length of the visit and can use the community's care, amenities and activities just as long-term residents do. Banner McKee Medical Center, at 2000 Boise Avenue, is about 1 mile away in a straight line and just under 2 miles by road, and Medical Center of the Rockies, a 278-bed hospital at 2500 Rocky Mountain Avenue, is a little over two and a half miles away in a straight line.

Orchards Shopping Center is about 2 miles from the community, while The Promenade Shops at Centerra are about 7 miles to the east. Pho Lan, a Vietnamese restaurant, is also about 2 miles from the community's front door.
