About Keri Lackey

Keri Lackey covers Utah County's senior living market in depth, working from Lehi at the north end through Provo and Orem in the middle and south to Springville, Mapleton, and Salem. Utah County is the second-most-populated senior living market in the state, with distinct community footprints in each of these cities and different price floors as the geography shifts away from the I-15 corridor.

Eight years of senior care experience shape how Keri walks families through the process. She tracks which communities have current openings, which accept Medicaid for new residents rather than only existing residents, and which operators have notably long staff tenure. Operator-level knowledge matters because community quality often depends more on staffing than on building age or marketing photos.

Her work covers assisted living, independent living, memory care, and skilled nursing. She is comfortable with the in-between situations where a resident's needs do not sit cleanly in one license category, including residents transitioning from independent living to assisted living, or from assisted living to memory care.

The service is free for Utah County families with no obligation. Keri returns calls and messages the same business day, and most first conversations run fifteen to thirty minutes.

How Keri helps families

  1. First call

A 15–30 minute conversation about your situation, timeline, and budget. Keri listens first, then suggests a starting direction. No commitment.

  2. Assessment

Together you review care needs, financial fit, location, and family preferences. Keri narrows the Utah directory down to a shortlist of 3–4 communities that match.

  3. Tours

Keri arranges and accompanies you to tours, asks the right questions on your behalf, and shares notes after each visit so you can compare cleanly.

  4. Move-in support

When you choose a community, Keri coordinates paperwork, communicates with the property, and stays available through the transition and the first few weeks after.

Keri Lackey is absolutely fantastic and an extremely valuable resource to anyone making this transition for their loved ones. I contacted her in a bit of a panic when I realized that the living situation my aged Father was in would no longer work for his needs. I was torn because I wanted to be sure he was somewhere safe. I don't have the time or resources to care for him, work full time, and take care of my two children. Cost was a concern obviously, but thankfully I had saved enough money in addition to my Dad's social security and pension for him to be okay. I sleep easier each night now knowing my Dad is SAFE, LOVED, and CARED about. Thank you Keri and CarePatrol for your love, support, and concern for our parents and loved ones. I enthusiastically recommend Keri and CarePatrol! πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ

We had planned for many years to have my Mom live in a specific memory care facility when the time came. However, timing of her needing care after a fall and availability at that center did not line up. Someone at that center suggested I talk with Keri Lackey to help with finding a memory care center for my mom. This is always a heart wrenching and difficult decision to make for anyone. It was extra hard for me when I live out of state and couldn’t be there in person to tour the places she suggested. Keri listened to our situation, desires, and was so helpful! She helped us find a great place that truly cares about my Mom. Couldn’t be happier with all her help, teaching me ins and outs, and her continuing help with my many questions. She has even gone to visit my mom to make sure she is doing well. I am truly grateful for Keri!

Keri was patient, informative, and easy to work with while we went through the process of finding care for our mom. She came to help tour facilities, visited us on move in day to help the transition, and made a follow up visit with our mom to check in with her. She was instrumental in helping us find a second option for our mom when our first did not meet our expectations. She was knowledgeable about every step of the process and always ready to help when we needed. We are grateful to Keri and the Care Patrol for their help during this emotional and difficult process.

Thank you Keri for being there for my family and I. We couldn't have found a place for my father without you. You were so kind and understanding in one of the hardest things we had to do in this heart wrenching process. Your guidance helped us so much and we appreciate you.

Keri was so good to work with. See understood exactly what we were going through as caregivers for an aging parent and helped us work through what the possibilities were and what would work best for our family. When the time was right, Keri came and met with Mom and took her on a lunch tour of the assisted living place that she had helped us find. Mom's attitude changed that day, and she decided she could make the move. Keri helped us navigate all the details of making the arrangements, and now Mom is living in her new apartment, as she calls it, and loves it! Mom went from being afraid of assisted living to thriving in it. Keri helped make that happen. Thank you!!!

Frequently asked questions

How long does the senior living placement process take?

Most Utah County placements run between one and six weeks from first call to move-in. Hospital discharges compress that to forty-eight or seventy-two hours. The typical sequence in this county runs first call, care assessment, shortlist of three to four communities, tours within a week, comparison conversation, deposit, and move-in coordination. Utah County's community density along the I-15 corridor means tour scheduling usually fits within a single afternoon if needed.

What does a senior living advisor do?

Keri walks Utah County families through senior living placement from the first call onward. The work includes narrowing a community shortlist (Provo, Orem, Lehi, American Fork, and the smaller cities in between), scheduling and walking through tours together, explaining what's actually included in monthly pricing, and coordinating paperwork and move-in once a family chooses. The local-market depth is what makes the difference, especially in a county where price floors shift quickly as you move away from the I-15 corridor.

How quickly will I hear back?

Keri returns calls and emails the same business day. After-hours messages come back the next morning. Hospital-discharge timelines from any Utah County hospital can usually meet a 48-hour shortlist turnaround, because the working community map for the county is already in her head.

What if I don't live in Utah but my parent does?

Out-of-state coordination is a regular pattern for Utah County families, given how many adult children moved out of state. Keri works fully by phone, email, and video, including walking through tours with whichever local family member can attend. Decision conversations include everyone the family wants in the room, even when that means a video call across three time zones.

Do you help with Medicaid?

Yes. Utah County has a moderate Medicaid bed footprint, though most operators run a limited Medicaid census. Keri knows which Utah County communities accept Medicaid for new admissions versus only existing residents, and she tracks availability week to week. She can walk through eligibility, the typical timeline, and the operators most likely to have current openings.

What care types do you help place?

Keri helps with assisted living, independent living, memory care, and skilled nursing across Utah County. She is comfortable with residents transitioning between care types (independent to assisted living, or assisted living to memory care) and with the in-between situations where the license boundaries matter. Utah County has options at every care level, and Keri's recommendation factors in which operators best handle care-need progression over time.
