About Alta Ridge Assited Living
Alta Ridge Assisted Living is a 58-bed assisted-living community at the base of the East Bench in Sandy, Utah, with the Wasatch Mountains framing the eastern view from the property. The address is 1360 E. 9400 S., and the building has been running for more than two decades, which makes it one of the longest-tenured senior-care addresses on Salt Lake County's east side. The Alta Ridge Memory Care sits directly across the street, allowing residents whose care needs progress to move without leaving the corner.
Care planning is tuned to each resident, with around-the-clock staff coverage, daily medication oversight, weekly housekeeping, and assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and other activities of daily living. The community offers a Medicaid contract, so a portion of the bed count rotates as Medicaid-funded openings, and a senior advisor can confirm what's currently available before the tour. Two-story walk-out floor plans take advantage of the East Bench grade, and mountain-view rooms tend to draw the strongest demand.
Daily routines play out across the shared common spaces with mountain-facing windows, including a dining room, lounge, and library where residents tend to gather through the day. Activities span music programs, group games, religious services, and family events on holidays, alongside scheduled bus trips into the surrounding Sandy area for shopping and routine medical visits. Mealtimes pull most residents together in the main dining room, and the long operating history means many of the daily routines are well-established.
The long operating history at this address shows up in long-tenure staff and the kind of established routines that come with a two-decade-plus run. Mountain-view east-facing rooms are a recurring draw, and the paired-campus arrangement with the sister memory-care building across the street is the differentiator most local families end up here for. Sandy sits on the east side of the Salt Lake Valley, with the property's location on 9400 South putting it about 10 minutes from Alta View Hospital for hospital needs and 5 minutes from the Sandy Main Street area for shops and casual dining.
I-15 is a few minutes west, and the South Towne TRAX station is roughly 8 minutes for residents and visiting family who want easy access to downtown Salt Lake City. The community is operated by Wasatch Senior Living, a Utah-based operator with Alta Ridge Memory Care directly across the street. The two Alta Ridge buildings on 9400 South form a paired-campus arrangement that lets families keep a loved one in the same neighborhood through changing care needs, and the Medicaid contract here is the East Bench's anchor for budget-aware Sandy families.

Reviews from Google
I witnessed a CNA did not catch her name engaged in a verbal tirade against another younger CNA. This was not a constructive correction or a private disagreement; it was a loud, aggressive, and demeaning display of hostility. Most disturbingly, this occurred in the direct view…

Well run and fantastic!
Unfortunately I cannot recommend this facility.. the staff are great and hardworking but as far as management is overwhelmed, underfunded and unable to meet the needs of those it cares for. Be careful placing your loved one here.
