About MorningStar of Arvada

Ninety residents live under one roof at MorningStar of Arvada, a scale that supports something a small home can't: a full staff on every shift, a chef in the kitchen, and a dedicated team whose only job is filling the calendar. The building still reads as unhurried rather than institutional, with common rooms sized for gathering rather than just passing through on the way somewhere else. Staff support residents with bathing, dressing, and keeping medications on a consistent schedule, and that help expands as a resident needs more of it.

Assisted living and memory care share the same address here rather than being split into a locked-off section, so nobody's bed count gets carved out separately from the community total. A resident can lean on more oversight over time without packing up and moving to a different building. There's no independent living and no nursing unit on site, so families mapping out a longer continuum of care should factor that in early.

The kitchen turns out scratch-made soups and rotating daily entrees under a chef's direction, built to work for a range of appetites and needs. Programming falls to a life enrichment team that fills the week with group exercise, seasonal gatherings, and other organized events. Residents aren't locked into a fixed schedule, though — there's room to sit out a session or two and keep to a quieter pace instead.

Costs here are paid privately; Colorado's Health First Colorado program isn't billed at this address. Assisted living runs from roughly $5,500 a month, and memory care climbs to about $6,800 once the added oversight is priced in. Pets aren't part of the arrangement, so families with animals will need to plan around that. Short-term or respite stays aren't offered either, which makes this a better fit for a move meant to last.

The surrounding Arvada Ridge area gives visiting relatives plenty to do nearby. Wadsworth Boulevard covers routine errands within a few minutes, and the Kipling Street corridor adds another cluster of restaurants just past the neighborhood line. Majestic View Nature Center puts trails and open space within easy reach, a common stop for family before or after a visit. Saint Anthony Hospital, over in Lakewood, keeps emergency and specialty medical care close by for residents throughout Jefferson County.

MorningStar Senior Living owns and runs the community, one of several it operates across multiple states using a shared approach to dining and programming. The Arvada property reflects that same model at its own scale: 90 residents, memory care built into daily life rather than set apart, and meals coming out of a real kitchen rather than off a tray line.

MorningStar of Arvada

This setting suits families weighing a larger assisted living and memory care community, one built for 90 residents with organized programming and memory support folded into daily life rather than walled off. It works for households planning to cover costs privately, since Medicaid isn't billed at this address.

Best for: A 90-resident community offering chef-prepared meals, organized programming, and support across both assisted living and memory care.
Consider if: Medicaid billing, pet accommodations, short-term or respite stays, and a small home-style setting are not part of what this community offers.
Ask on tour: Ask how staff handle memory care day to day, given that it runs inside the wider community rather than a separately secured wing.
Comparison: Bigger than most single-site residential care homes nearby, with a deeper staff roster, more programming, and dining variety at a private-pay rate.

Once again I have to tip my hat to John Bachofer for putting on one of the classiest, best executed events I have ever attended in 15 year or so of Senior Living. No surprise...considering John B arranged it...but their team and their chef and David their ED made it truly…
