About Skyline Ridge Skilled Nursing & Rehab

Skyline Ridge Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation sits on Fairview Avenue in Cañon City, only minutes from Saint Thomas More Hospital, built around a different kind of care than the assisted living homes found elsewhere in Fremont County. Rather than assisted living, Skyline Ridge focuses on skilled nursing and memory care, serving residents who need clinical-level support or dementia care rather than help with daily routines alone.

Skilled nursing residents receive round-the-clock nursing care from licensed staff, often after a hospital stay that requires rehabilitation before a return home, and memory care is woven into the same building for residents living with dementia rather than housed in a separately counted secured wing. Skyline Ridge bills Medicaid alongside Medicare and private pay, and short-term respite stays are available for families who need a temporary option.

Families whose loved ones transferred here directly from the hospital describe the move as smooth, with staff moving quickly to settle a patient into rehabilitation and keep the process on track from the first day. Nursing staff are described as kind and consistently willing to go the extra step for residents, families say they're notified promptly when something changes with a loved one's condition, and the recreation program keeps residents engaged well beyond bedside care.

An 85-bed skilled nursing community suits families whose loved one needs clinical-level nursing care, rehabilitation after a hospital stay, or memory care support, rather than a resident who only needs help with daily assisted living tasks. Skyline Ridge doesn't offer assisted living or independent living apartments, since its clinical model is built for skilled nursing and memory care specifically.

Saint Thomas More Hospital is only minutes away by car, keeping hospital-to-rehab transfers straightforward, and Cañon City's Main Street shops and the river trail along the Arkansas give visiting family things to do nearby during a longer stay. Skyline Ridge Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation runs as a clinical-care community in Cañon City, built to handle both short-term rehabilitation after a hospital stay and longer-term skilled nursing and memory care for residents who need more than assisted living can offer.
